The NRSC (National Republican Senatorial Committee) is recruiting sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students interested in politics, online campaigns, and digital media to intern in the digital department for the Spring/Summer of 2017. Following an exciting and historic 2016 election cycle in which Republicans retained control of the Senate majority, the NRSC is seeking interns who are eager to contribute to the start of the 2018 election cycle and ultimately help Republicans retain a majority in the U.S. Senate.
The NRSC digital team needs creative interns with strong writing skills who are interested in email marketing, social media, blog writing, video production, online advertising, digital design, application and web development. The NRSC's growing digital team will provide an in-depth and hands on experience in every aspect of online campaigning. For designers and developers this internship will add quality and depth to any portfolio. Formal training opportunities in online advertising, email marketing, coding, and other fields will be offered. Interns will contribute to writing blog posts featured on our website and social media and create and edit content for our videos. Other duties include updating and maintaining candidate statistics, helping set-up and monitor equipment for and during recording sessions, and monitoring social media traffic.
Preferable applicants have experience in blog writing, copy writing, coding, web development, film, and have experience in a political office or on a campaign. However, those experiences are not required. What the digital team values most are applicants who are creative, have strong writing skills, are quick learners, have an eagerness and interest to learn more about digital media and campaigns, and a desire to learn new skills.
While digital media interns work primarily with the digital team, they will be exposed to other key components of the committee including finance and fundraising, events, political strategy, messaging, and research. All interns fill in at the front desk on occasion and manage the front lobby, answer the mainline phone, sign in visitors, and assist appointments.
Please specify which term you would like to intern (Spring or Summer) in your cover letter. All NRSC internships offered are full time and are unpaid. Internships for school credit may be accommodated.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. If there are any questions, please contact Austin Metsch, NRSC intern coordinator, at 202-675-6000 or email@example.com.
